"Stunt Paradise" is a level-based side-scrolling platformer, where you drive a car from left to right, through linear levels consisting of elaborate structures to perform stunts. It has been developed and published by Brinemedia. The game got some attention from the Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer which is the reason why I personally wanted to see what the fuzz is about.

As mentioned in the intro section, it's a side-scrolling platformer, where you navigate your car through elaborately constructed levels, jumping over obstacles and going through loops. You accelerate the car with the right trigger (cn_RT), brake with the left trigger (cn_LT]) and tilt your car mid air with the left stick (cn_LS). Those who have played any of Trials games will know what to expect here. Unfortunately for me the game felt too simple and boring. Compared to the Trials series, Stunt Driver offers no gameplay depth. There are no alternative routes, no weight balancing for skillful jumps, no elaborate secrets. You just press accelerate and sometimes break if you don't want to hit an obstacle like saw-blade. You can do forward and backward flips, but you only get a few extra coins.

The presentation of the game is fairly solid. It has that "no texture", "low polygon" indie game look with nice, bright colors and there is a nice variety of background locations. The car models look nice ranging from muscle cars, sports cars to off-road cars, with some fairly familiar car models, but you don't get to customize the car or choose a different color. The music consists of instrumental alternative rock reminiscent of early 2000 classic games like Crazy Taxi and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

Personally I only played it for 1 hour or so, got through the first 20 levels in order to unlock all the achievements. There are more levels and plenty of vehicles to unlock with the coins you earn each level, but I wasn't interested to continue.

In conclusion the game is a fairly easy side-scrolling platformer, similar to the Trials series which could be fun for inexperienced players or those looking for an easy challenge, but for me personally it's too easy and not entertaining. I would rather play the Trials games or even the Zombie Derby games which have more depth.
