Hunter's Trophy 2 Australia is an oddity on the arcade store as its practically identical to its sister game Hunter's Trophy 2 America, down to them having the same maps, animal spawns, achievement names, and almost everything else. The only real difference is that the textures are swapped between the two games to make them feel more authentic to their name sake countries. There is a lot of unintentional humor to find in these games, from the strangely sadistic achievements that require you to kill your own hunting dogs and the tool tips that tell you about it, to the buggy rag doll of the animals you shoot that often sends them stiffly flying around the screen. The game looks generally decent though the lighting and copy pasted textures can make it difficult to spot smaller animals which could be argued makes the game a little more realistic. Its a mostly arcade like hunting game with even the option to switch gun controls to mimic light gun shooters, however I would not recommend this as it makes certain sections almost impossible to control. The music is a very generic orchestral soundtrack that is mostly forgettable. The customization and unlockable RPG elements of the game are very light and don't bog down the experience too much if you want to get straight into the hunts. The sense of progression can be rewarding as you progress from hunting small hares and pheasants, too taking down scores of ducks, depopulating entire ecosystems and even taking down large game like buffalo and moose.
Recommendation
Before the price drop to 99 cents I would say leave this title alone as 10 dollars was far to high an asking price. However with this price drops on the online store due to its eminent closure I can recommend picking this up if you want a light funny arcade hunting game with relatively easy achievements (If you can stomach shooting your own hunting dog) and a quick pace. As I said earlier this game is identical to Hunter's Trophy 2 America at the same price and I would recommend picking up both for just under 2 dollars. That being said, my review of that game will be almost identical to this one in honor of how they copy pasted to make both games, therefore I will be copy and pasting most of this review for that one. Enjoy the easy 400g from both!
