Can't finalize those Bing PC researches quests

    Hello,

    Since a few weeks now, there is a new kind of quest in the program. It consists of searching things about a given theme on Bing on PC. When clicking the tile, it brings us directly to the Bing research page, letting us put whatever we want. Sometimes it's "put something from your things-to-buy list", or "check the flights for your vacations".

    I don't remember what was last week's one, but I put everything that crossed my mind but no answer worked. And this week the same problem happens: "search for disease syndromes" and "Find places to stay". And once again, whatever I put, it won't valid.

    Did anyone succeed? If yes, what did you put? I'm tired of those broken quests, Microsoft has tons of problem they don't see or care to fix. cry

    Thanks for your help.

    Same for me. Haven't found a way to get it to register yet.

    The best method I’ve found is to search for ‘buy flights’, ‘buy movies’ etc on the bing app

    It’s still hit and miss, I tend to search a few times in my daily searches and then try the next day if no luck

    Thanks for the replies. If after two days it doesn't want to valid, I give up. I won't run after 10 or 20 points, it doesn't worth it. Last week I let a quest vanish without 'solving' it, not that important. But this week they are two of them. Looks like MS makes everything to propose not working stuff...

    While im not sure ive ever gotten the "search for disease syndromes" or "find places to stay", i have gotten most if not all of the rest and have been able to complete each activity by typing this into the search;

    "Search Flights to..."
    - type in "flights to bangledesh". "Flights to singapore" and "Flights to indonesia" also work

    "Search Movies..." (or something along those lines)
    - type in "top gun". Thats literally it.

    "Places to Eat"
    - search a chain restaurant/fast food establishment; applebees, taco bell, panda express have all worked for me. And then add "near me" to the end so youre end search result should be "applebees near me"

    "Search Recipes..."
    - type in "pecan pie recipes"

    "Convert your Money"
    - type in "pesos to usd"

    "Add to your Shopping List"
    - this is the trickiest of them all as alot of searches youd think would count straight up dont.
    for this, ive had all these work;
    "shopping list"
    "walmart shopping list"
    singular grocery items such as "toilet paper" and "laundry detergent" (these two might not work anymore, as they havent for me.)
    yesterday they gave me this activity and i tried all of these and none of them initially worked but i checked back in a couple hours later to try and attempt to complete the activity and apparently one of the searches had registered an i ended up completing the activity.
    dont know if this particular activity is just really slow to register or what, but id suggest trying more than one search if its not registering or just check back later that day and see if its a delayed completion.
    also heard "apple prices at..." and then insert your local grocery story like walmart or something also works for this.

    These are the only activities i can think of off the top of my head. I know with ms rewards activities, some people are luckier than others when it comes to completing them so while this may have worked for me, it may not for you. Not sure if it makes a difference or not but i thought itd be worth noting but i actually clicked on the prompt of each activity AND THEN searched instead of just searching by itself. Anyway, hope this helps!

    Yeah, for me, most of the researches (shoplist, restaurants...) ends by the quest validations, but never from the first attempt. Maybe two or three minimum, but I succeed in the end. But each month (is it monthly?), I always have one quest that never wants to get done. I search in French, in English, every city/illness/etc. of the world, but nope.

    And I give up, it's too much time spent for so little rewards. The problem isn't me but Bing's devs who did a dirty work on it.

    i havent been keeping actual track of when exactly those activities appear, but id say over the last 3 times theyve shown up; they turn up on a (roughly) bi-weekly schedule.

    i hear that. i was almost ready to give up on the 'shopping list' activity last time and thought id give it one more try before throwing in the towel and then found out i did in fact meet the requirements to complete the activity, it was just delayed in registering.

    Apparently it's on Mondays as I have news quests about those researches. Four of them: "do your shopping faster", "check the weather", "you can track your parcel", and "find a place to discover".

    The first two were easy, no problem. The place to discover didn't get validated, but a few minutes later it did. Only that damn same old parcel thing still refuses to validate, I never succeeded, whatever I type. angry

    yeah i just got them aswell, same prompts an everything. i have the same dilemma as you;
    "do your shopping" and "check the weather" were done no problem. but the other two, not so much. i'll check back with an answer to the other two if i find one and on whether or not my "places to discover" activity is a delayed completion like you.

    edit:
    for the "places to discover" activity, search;
    - directions to and then put in the name of a nearby city
    for "track your package (or parcel in your case)", search;
    - ups tracking
    i did those exact searches, and the activities immediately registered as completed.

    Thank you for your feedback in general, BloodRaven, hope it'll help people.

    It's not "in my case", I'm French so it's written in French (even if I change the page language, it stays in French... facepalm). I'm the one who translated that to "parcel", but yeah, MS is American (maybe so are you), so overthere they prefer the term "package".

    search;
    - ups tracking
    Well, you gave me hopes, but before trying I knew it wouldn't work because I've already used those keywords. ups tracking, fedex tracking, dhl tracking, ups tracking international, fedex tracking usa, everything possible, in English or in French (as the question is asked in French), but nope.
    There's always a quest that doesn't want to get validated, I think it won't change. At least for non-English speaking countries. MS always has problems with translations, it might be the problem. And in another register, sometimes I give the right answer to a quiz question, but they consider it as wrong... cry

    ah okay, i see what youre saying. yea for most companies, whenever they offer incentives to entice people, the u.s. is usually; the 1st country to get it, most prioritized, and/or the only country to get it. so its not too surprising the ms rewards program is more beneficial to the u.s. user base. but other countries getting fleeced out of rewards cause of a language-translation barrier? either through sheer incompetence or actually deliberately, i honestly wouldnt be surprised. anyways, sorry that this is happening to you, hopefully they fix whatever the issue is sooner rather than later.

    The "you can track your parcel" quest just disappeared. All the others are still there, validated. So why the broken one left? Did MS understand something? We'll never know.

    I'm rather glad because as I considered it as unobtainable, not seeing it anymore is great. And I say to myself that maybe they removed to because they learned it was broken, meaning next Monday's wave will be 100% doable....................... LET ME DREAM, BloodRaven! laugh
