The PlayStation has been around much longer than the XBox so that goes without saying. The issue is, if you are buying a console today, which offers you the better library, the PS5 or the Series X?
Both are exceptional consoles with exceptional libraries. The answer is not clear cut and depend’s on the buyer’s individual circumstances.
If one has a hankering for VR games, the PS5 is the obvious choice. On the other hand, if one is budget constrained and relies on subscription services and cloud gaming, the obvious choice is the Series X.
If one wants to play older games, the Series X would similarly be the obvious choice since the PS5 only offers backwards compatibility with 8th gen titles where the Series X goes back to 7th and even 6th gen titles. On the other hand, if one’s tastes run to ownership of new titles, the PS5 offers the larger library of current gen titles.
Game selection aside, one might make one’s decision based on hardware, user interface, achievement/trophy system, and so on. There are more similarities than differences especially when contrasted with the Nintendo Switch. Still, the differences might play into the buyer’s particular preferences.
The bottom line is, if one is limited to buying only one console & has to choose between the Series X & the PS5, regardless of the decision, the buyer ends up with a fantastic gaming machine supported by an incredible library of games.
like I said Playstation does have more games (from the ps1 to the ps5) Sony just has more games than the Xbox...I am not talking about this gen...I am not talking about today, I said Playstation has more games than Xbox and that's the truth. It doesn't matter who been out longer, Playstation > Xbox when it comes to the total library of games on there systems.
