Believe it or not, I was trying to be helpful.

I saw someone complaining about having to mute their phone due to ads. You replied "Yeah I can't begin to look at the site on mobile." to which I wanted to point out that Edge works very well in removing all ads. All I wanted to do was mention a way to not have ads on mobile.

That should have been the indication that I'm not using the site on mobile. I'm really not trying to argue here, but I thought it was pretty clear I was talking about the desktop version.

Ads on this site are getting quite ridiculous...
You see, now even the page background is a big ad, which is making the page slow down a little on my desktop.
I don't use any adblocker and had no complaining about ads popping here and there like was before, but the actual way the site is forcing users to go for a PRO account is a shame.
Wish there was some equivalent site.

It's been ridiculous for years. Unfortunately it seems to be intentional. Anyone new to the site is going to run away as fast as they can. I'm not sure how inhibiting growth like this and/or forcing people to use an adblocker is the best solution.

I'm a Pro subscriber and happy to contribute, because the site itself is amazing. But when I visit without being logged in, it's basically unusable. Feels like accidentally clicking on a porn site. I always panic when it happens in the office.

Still zero acknowledgement of complaints on this by TA themselves, which I can only assume means they are happy with them (or chose to have them) as they want to push people onto TA-Pro and don't care how that happens.

Thankfully I haven't seen one of those yet. That is entirely invasive and unacceptable.
