This achievement is story related and it can't be missed.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Near the half point of the game, Innes will be killed by a monster. After that, wait for the elevator to stop and head right as you follow the walkway beneath the helipad to the topside. Once you've climbed up, a cutscene will begin with Rennick flying the helicopter and crashing; after the cutscene ends the achievement will unlock.
