After the gaming industry was shocked by the news that Xbox is closing multiple Bethesda studios, a new report has now emerged which claims other big decisions are being debated, with Microsoft deliberating on whether to bring new Call of Duty games to Game Pass as well as a price raise for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Microsoft reportedly also considering raising the price for Game Pass Ultimate

A new report from The Verge's Tom Warren claims that Microsoft is having "internal debates" about having new Call of Duty games in Game Pass, with the report suggesting one fear is that being in Game Pass will "undermine" the revenue CoD games usually make for Activision Blizzard.

Following on from that, those same "sources at Microsoft" are apparently reporting that Microsoft "considered" raising the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We saw the price for Game Pass Ultimate increase last year, and not long after, Phil Spencer said an Xbox Game Pass price increase is "inevitable".

Warren points out that these are only "considerations." There has been no word yet from Microsoft on these issues.

Indeed, the gaming industry is still reeling from Microsoft's decision to close four Bethesda studios. This decision continues to be widely criticised, and adds to the growing confusion about what exactly Microsoft's plan is, and how its studios are meant to prosper when even hit games like Hi-Fi Rush aren't enough to save them. What's more, it looks as though more bad news could be on the way, as a new report claims more Xbox cuts could be on the horizon.

An Xbox Games Showcase is on the way, followed by a "redacted" event suspected to be a Call of Duty Direct, and so we will hopefully see some clarification from Microsoft there.
