Fable 2 is probably the sweet spot for spell slinging in the series. The combat was designed to seamlessly transition from spells to guns to melee and back again. All mix and match.

Of course Fable 3 allows mixing and matching your spell gauntlets so you can do things like summoning spectral blades and mix them with fire, electricity, or ever a vortex (that one looks cool). The casting animations are ever so slightly better in 3, or maybe that’s just my preference. Overall I’d say Fable 2 is the one to try over Fable Anniversary.

At any rate, if you want to knock someone into the air with a great hammer or blunderbus and fling a fireball at their flying ragdoll of a body, Fable is a good choice.

Homestead Arcana should really be on this list, and its on GP!

I do want to check out Potion Permit at some point though.

I still need to finish hogwarts but that’s nice I’ve not rushed it so I can see and play the new content as I wouldn’t have bothered if I had completed the game as no new ach

I love the Lego games, remember when they released 1 or 2 games a year? Now they take ages and are doing stuff like Lego Horizon… We didn’t know how good we had it!

Shouldn't Assassin's Creed Hex have gotten a mention? Actually I think Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla might be worth a mention; while not necessarily witchy they have supernatural elements and that crowd tends to like with mythological tropes. Paganism and Nordic mythos especially have overlap. Plus the games got whole open world RPG thing going for them, way less jarring a transition than going to Potion craft or whatever.

Fwiw I gifted HL to a nongamer and she enjoyed playing Odyssey after.

I did not enjoy being talked down to by my 13 year old son when we played it together. I haven't read the books or watched the movies so I was lost most of the time.

Why is the 360 version of Skyrim listed? Isn't the Xbox One/Series version on GP?

Either way, fun magic game. Easily put 300-400 hours as a Glass Cannon, highly recommend

Hogwarts was amazing! Really need to move the PS version up my to do list. Also, LEGO HP games were great! And thankfully they were in before they started adding actual dialogue to the games.

Kinda surprised Immortals Avenum wasn't listed considering its on GP and you sling spells like a champ start to finish. Great game by the way for anyone who missed it. You can barely tell EA had a hand in it because there's no microtransactions and its a fresh IPlaugh
I'm just a guy, staring at each new Rockstar update, asking it to be single player DLC...

Hogwarts was fantastic. Even as not a huge HP fan, I was impressed by the attention to detail in the castle.
